‘Axe Cop’ Created by 5 Year-Old

Fox has just green lit an animation remake of Comic book franchise ‘Axe Cop’. Axe cop was borne out of the imagination of seven year old Malachai Nicolle (5 years old when concept idea) and his chief illustrator, older brother Ethan.

The comic tells the story of an earnest police officer who uses a firefighter’s axe as his weapon, while being aided by a flute sidekick and a T-Rex pet.

Fox Alternative Animation

Axe Cop has the honour of being the first official project to be put into development by Fox’s alternative animation production unit, Animation Domination HD, which is spearheaded by Adult Swim alumnus Nick Weidenfield.

Fox plans to debut the series in early 2013, and has already ordered 6 x 15 minute episodes. Weidenfeld told Vulture that he is currently looking for a showrunner who “has a good idea of how to adapt Axe Cop without ruining what’s great about a story whose origins hail from the mind of a 5 year old.”
