Trey Parker and Matt Stone are co-creators of South Park. They first met at the University of Colorado in Boulder. South Park premiered on Comedy Central on August 13, 1997 and is still winning ratings and awards today.

South Park was based on an animated short titled Jesus vs. Frosty, featuring prototypes of South Park characters, produced in 1992 while Matt Stone and Trey Parker were still students. Three years later, Parker and Stone produced a second short film called The Spirit of Christmas: Jesus vs. Santa for Brian Garden, a Hollywood Foxlab executive who commissioned them to make it. Garden sent the short out as a video Christmas card to friends in the industry. The popularity of the video led to Stone and Parker winning a deal to make South Park on Comedy Central.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker have collaborated on films for the big screen. In the summer of 1999, Parker and Stone released their critically acclaimed feature length film, South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut, which was produced by Paramount Pictures. The film earned the pair an Oscar nomination, as well as an LA Film Critics Award, a NY Film Critics Award and an MTV Movie Award. They also produced Orgazmo and Team America: World Police.

In 2001, Parker and Stone created That’s My Bush!, a sitcom for Comedy Central that made fun of sitcoms and portrayed the Commander in Chief as the lovable, often bumbling, main character. The show starred such veteran actors as Kurt Fuller (Wayne’s World), Marcia Wallace (The Simpsons) and Timothy Bottoms (The Last Picture Show).
